Berhampur, August 7 (LocalWire): Continuing its drive to crackdown against business establishments and shops violating the COVID-19 regulations, Ganjam district administration on Friday sealed a petrol pump in Silk City.
The enforcement team also collected fine to a tune of Rs 1.50 lakh from ten other petrol pumps in the city.
The action has been taken against the filling station owners, as they did not follow the guidelines of the district administration and maintain social distancing norms, said an officer.
The drive would be continued and the outlets sealed if they continued to violate the norms, they warned.
On Thursday, the enforcement team had sealed five shops in the city for violating the social distancing norms and collected Rs 20,000 fines from the violators, sources said.
Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange has directed the tehsildars and block development offices in the state to launch the crackdown of the violators of the COVID protocol.
The shop would be closed for a month, if the shop owner did not follow the five-point strategies of the district administration.
The five-point strategies (pancha sutra) for the shop-owners include double-barricade, social distancing for customers, wearing masks for shopkeepers and customers, hand sanitation and maintaining a register of the visiting customers. The shops in the district are allowed to operate from 5 am to 4 pm from August 1.
