Berhampur, August 30 (LocalWire): Police busted two inter-district gangs with the arrest of 12 members and seized several firearms from them on Thursday.
Four pistols, 12 rounds of ammunition, 12 crude bombs, a toy gun, two sharp weapons, three knives, 15 masks, five motorbikes and cash around Rs 58,000 have been seized from them, said SP (Ganjam) Brijesh Rai.
At least ten cases were pending against each member of the gangs, police said.
The members were involved in different dacoity and loot cases in different police stations in Ganjam, Berhampur, Khorda and Nayagarh police districts, said SP.
While six of them were arrested from Basanapalli roadshed under Aska police station limits, other six persons were arrested from Budhakhola hill under Buguda police station limits, he said.
Police arrested them while they were preparing to commit major crimes in the areas, police said.
‘We will investigation about their sources of firearms and their other associates,’ he added.
The gang members, generally targeted to the agents of the private finance company and traders, he added.
All the accused persons were belonging to different villages of Ganjam district.
