Rourkela, Oct 10 (LocalWire): A raid conducted jointly by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Customs and Central Excise on the Mumbai-bound Gyaneswari Express today yielded a huge catch of gold worth over Rs 5 crores.
The raid took place between Rajgangpur-Jharsuguda and two people have been detained with 110 biscuits weighing over 13 kilograms.
The superintendent of Railway Police, Trinath Patel, said, ‘We were not informed about the raid.
I cannot say for sure where the raid was conducted or anything regarding the seizure and arrest.’
The team had previous information regarding the smuggling of such a large amount of gold and conducted the raid.
