Bhubaneswar, Aug 11 (LocalWire): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today said that antigen testing to screen Coronavirus started in nine Urban Health Centres from today while seven more would start the same from tomorrow.
The urban body said that this step is likely to magnify the facility of testing of the viral disease from the local population.
Of the nine local health-care facilities which started the facility today included six Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) and three are Urban Community Health Centres (UCHCs).
Seven urban health centres will be added for the testing from tomorrow. The seven new centres are: UPHC IRC Village, Ghatikia, Kalpana Square, Brahmeshwar Patna, Kapilaprasad, Chandrasekharpur and Municipality Hospital in Old Town (UCHC).
The testing centres are open from 8am to 2pm, the tests are being carried out free of cost by the Civic authorities. BMC has appealed to citizens to come to their nearest urban health centres and get the testing done free of cost for the viral disease.
“While on August 6 and 7 BMC conducted 2,010 and 2,285 tests respectively, during the last several days, however, the testing number has surpassed 1,700 to 1,800 range on an average,” a statement from BMC said today.
