Paradip, March 19 (LocalWire): The 16th national theatre festival Canfest-2019 kicked-off here at Jayadev Sadan on Tuesday.
Paradip Port Trust chairman and chief guest on the occasion Rinkesh Roy declared it open.
Several troupes from different parts of the country are taking part in the eight-day fest.
Other important guests included literature scholar Devdas Chhotray, New Delhi-based theater director Avtar Sahani and IFFCO unit head KJ Patel.
The festival is organised by the Paradip-based cultural group Canmass in collaboration with Union ministry of culture, the state culture department, North Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC), PPT and IFFCO, among others.

Canmass will perform a folk theatre daily from 7 pm onwards.
Actors Repertory, New Delhi, presented the inaugural Hindi play “Roshomon” directed by Avtar Sahani.
