Bhubaneswar, Sept 17 (LocalWire): The State Health and Family Welfare Department today said that by today it has seen administration of plasma to 1000 Coronavirus patients.
“It’s an admirable achievement for the entire team of Plasma Therapy to cross the milestone of administering Plasma to over 1000 patients ,” a statement from the department said.
The department said that plasma was made available irrespective of the status of the hospitals.
It was given in both government as well as private covid health centres.
The Odisha Police meanwhile today said that 200 Coronavirus cured police personnel have also donated plasma for the critical patients of the pandemic.
“Till today, 200 Corona Warriors of Odisha Police have donated plasma at different locations like SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, IGH, Rourkela, VIMSAR, Burla and M.K.C.G Medical College & Hospital, Berhampur and saved the lives of other critical COVID patients,” the department said.
Plasma therapy is given to critical patients of Coronavirus after administering the plasma from the cured persons as the cured persons develop antibody against the virus.
