Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued revised guidelines for issuance of miscellaneous and caste certificates.
The government has taken the decision to facilitate expeditious issuance of various certificates to citizens and bring transformational changes in the system.
As per the revised guidelines issued by state revenue secretary Bishnupada Sethi, the resident, asset and income certificates will now be issued in 10 days after the application is received at the tehsil offices.
Presently, the certificates are issued within 15 days.
Similarly, the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, SEBC and OBC certificates will be issued within 15 days. Presently, it takes 30 days for issuance of caste certificates.
However, solvency and legal heir and guardianship certificates will be continued to be issued within 30 days of receiving the applications.
Legal heir certificate shall be issued for all purposes so that citizens will not be required to apply more than once for different purposes, said Sethi.
The revised guidelines will come into force immediately.
Notably, the state government in December, 2019 had launched the e-certificate project under the 5T model of governance that aimed to help citizens to avail the certificates online without visiting the tehsil office or common service centres.
People can apply for these certificates from anywhere while it will be given based on self-certification and documents submitted by the applicants.
