Berhampur, Feb 10 (LocalWire): On Monday, the Police took three into custody for the alleged murder of a 35-year old man by running a tractor over him at Jajpur village under the Gajapati district’s Paralakhemundi Police Station over a month ago.
The deceased was identified as Kalidas Pradhan of Jajpur village.
The Police identified Bhaskar Biswal (42) of Jajpur as the main culprit of the murder. The other two have been identified as Chhabila Swainsa (35) of Jajpur and Prabhakar Pradhan (34) of Jubarajpur.
SP (Gajapati) Sarah Sharma informed LocalWire that a tractor and a motorcycle that was used to commit the murder have been seized from the accused persons.
The tractor was concealed in a nearby jungle after committing the murder.
Biswal was arrested from Palasa Railway Station, while the other two from Jajpur village itself, informed the SP.
The SP informed LocalWire that the body of the deceased was found near the village pond on January 9.
At first the Police assumed an accident to be the reason behind his death.
But the younger brother of the deceased, Raja Pradhan, accused Bhaskar of murder.
During the investigation, we came to know that Biswal wanted to eliminate Kalidas due to their previous enmity over a love affair, the SP said.
