Paradip, Nov 19 (LocalWire): Three children were rescued from a hotel and two shops in Paradip town today after district-level task force led by district labour officer raided 14 shops, hotels, bar and other business establishments.
They have been produced before the Child Welfare committee after conducting a medical examination at Atharbanki Hospital in Paradip.
District labour officer Baba Ananda Ranjan Das rescued the three children working in a hotel, flower shop and electrical shop.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Kumud Ranjan Das informed ‘The squad raided different hotels, bar and other shops after orders from from the district administration and rescued a child aged 13 years and two adolescents, aged15 and 17 years respectively. One of them has been handed over to his guardian as per provisions of the law. A case will be registered against the employer under child and adolescent labour (prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986.’
