Berhampur, Aug 6 (LocalWire): As many as 30 Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas are going to introduce higher secondary classes (Plus II) in the second phase from this academic session.
The state project director, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has written a letter to the principals of the concerned schools to start the admission process for the Class XI students in their respective schools.
The intake capacity of each school is 80 students in two sections-40 in each section and the subject combination is English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
While advertisement for the admission in the Class XI has already been issued on August 4, the process of completion of the joining will be completed on September 25, sources said.
District Education Officer (DEO) Ganjam Amulya Kumar Pradhan said with these, the higher education facilities would be available in 12 out of 22 OAVs in the district.
Last year, the Plus II class was started in five OAVs at Rangeilunda, Hinjili, Khallikote, Sheragada and Kabisurya Nagar.
This year the Plus II would be opened at the OAVs located at Pitatali (Chikiti), Kusaguma (Dharakote) Sidheswar (Digapahandi), Kusumi (Kukudakhandi), Badapur (Patrapur), Hatiota (Polasara) and Sorada.
“We thank the government for opening the higher secondary classes in the OAV in our block, which will facilitate the higher studies of the students of our areas,” said B.Krishna Murty, former Samiti member of Chikiti block.
