Bhubaneswar, Dec 14 (LocalWire) As many as 30 surrendered Maoists watched the Men’s Hockey World Cup at Kalinga stadium here, said Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Jagmohan Meena.
The red rebels have surrendered under the rehabilitation policy of the Odisha government.
All 20 surrendered Maoists from Malkangiri and 10 from Koraput watched the hockey match between India and Belgium in a special gallery at the stadium with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.
Six young girls, 10 women, 14 men and nine children were among the 30-member team.
They visited Nandankanan Zeological Park and are scheduled to visit Puri and Konark on Friday.
After enjoying the ongoing .FEST at exhibition ground in the city, they will return home on Saturday, said a senior police official.
