Bhubnaeswar, June 9 (Local Wire): Close to 49 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel have now been infected with Coronavirus after their return from West Bengal.
Earlier one NDRF jawan at the force’s Mundali battalion was tested positive for the disease.
With the addition of 49 new cases the total number of infected jawans there has reached 50.
A number of NDRF personnel had recently gone to the neighbouring state of West Bengal to extend their help in the rescue and rehabilitation activities in cyclone Amphan hit areas.
A total of 167 NDRF jawans have returned from the state now after working there in post cyclone works.
The state earlier has seen several cases of Coronavirus from the people returning from West Bengal which has higher number of Coronavirus cases than Odisha.
