Berhampur, Feb 2 (LocalWire) At least five ganja smugglers were arrested while they were trying to transport the contraband illegally in a tomato-loaded pick-up van at Gumm Padara on National Highway (NH)- 59 in Kandhamal district’s Baliguda police station limits.
Police reportedly seized 70 kg ganja, worth around Rs 70 lakh.
The processed marijuana was packed and hidden inside tomato boxes in the vehicle, said Baliguda police station inspector-in-charge Ramakant Patra.
He said the ganja was being transported from Sindurigaon, near Baliguda to Kalapatahra in Cuttack district.
The arrestees were identified as pick-up van driver Prasanna Kumar Sethi of Kalapathara, Nakula Polai of Baideswara in Cuttack, Sachitra Dalai of Tilugaon,Birupakhya Dandia of Barkhama and Rajiba Dalabehera of Gumma Padara under Baliguda police station limits.
