Bhubaneswar, April 24 (Local Wire): The state government on Friday said that it reported five new cases of Coronavirus in the state as more screened citizens from Bhadrak tested positive for the global pandemic.
The State Health Department said that all the five new patients of the viral disease had returned to their native places in Bhadrak district recently from West Bengal.
The five new cases from the district include two 40-year-old males, 29-year-old male, 41-year-old male and a 24-year-old male.
The new patients are said to be hailing from Tihidi and Dhamnagar blocks of the district.
The government on Friday claimed that it tested a total of 18458 samples and found total of 94 positive cases of Coronavirus at the state level.
It also said that now the state has 60 active cases, 33 cases of recoveries and 170 are in hospital isolation.
With the emergence of five new cases, Bhadrak district alone is said to have 16 cases. The district is now already under shutdown orders and strict surveillance and contact tracing of COVID patients are going on.
