Bhubaneswar, May 10 (Local Wire): The state government on Sunday said that a total of 55,916 stranded Odisha migrants from other state have returned to their home state till now after partial lockdown relaxations.
“A total of 3193 Odia migrants returned to Odisha by Sunday. So far 55,916 Odias have returned to Odisha. Returnees are coming by train/bus and other vehicles.
They are returning Odisha every day since May 3,” a statement from the Information and Public Relations Department said.
The government said that the quarantine centre numbers have also escalated in the light of return of more migrants.
“14,513 Temporary Medical Centres/Camps (quarantine centres) have been readied in 6798 Gram Panchayats of the State,” a statement from the department said.
The government said that in all these centres, a total of 5,81,462 beds have been arranged to provide COVID-19 health services in rural areas.
