Berhampur, August 17 (LocalWire): A huge Swachh Bharat logo made with iron rods was displayed during the Independence Day celebrations at Berhampur Stadium here to create awareness among the people about the flagship mission of Narendra Modi government.
‘My aim is to display the logo of Swachha Bharat, the spectacle of Mahatma Gandhi, to create awareness among the people,’ said Hari Govind Moharana, an auto mechanic from the Silk City who made the six feet high and 33 inch wide logo.
40-year old Moharana took around a week to finish this logo.
He plans to donate it to the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) so that it can be installed in a public place to create awareness even as the civic body was trying to make the city open defecation free.
Last year on Independence Day, Moharana had made a tricolor with sugarcane straws, sugarcane, red gram, tapioca, green gram and black pepper.
The size of the flag was two feet wide and 14 inches high.
Earlier, during ratha Yatra he had also made a chariot and idols by using spices.
As many as 51 different grains and spices had been used to make a 30 inch high and 16 inch wide chariot, which weighed around three kilos, he added.
