Bhubaneswar, April 23 (Local Wire): The state government has now imposed a 60-hour long shut down in three districts of Odisha which reported spiked cases of Coronavirus.
As per the orders the shutdown has become operational now in Bhadrak, Balasore and Jajpur districts.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said that the shutdown will be operational from 10pm of Thursday. He said that the shutdown decision was taken keeping in mind the higher cases and need for stringent surveillance.
“In the last few days there has been reporting of Coronavirus cases from three districts. We have decided to impose the shutdown for better surveillance and attention to the situation there,” Tripathy said.
Tripathy said that during the shutdown the surveillance of the primary and secondary contact tracing would be done to screen more cases.
He also said that the government will increase testing three times in these areas to trace all possible contacts which are needed to be screened.
