Bhubaneswar, June 9 (LocalWire): The state government today said that a total of 61 personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) have been infected with Coronavirus.
The State Health Department said that these 61 jawans had recently returned from West Bengal after extending their helping hand to the neighbouring district after cyclone Amphan created havoc in parts of West Bengal.
The government claimed that all these personnel contracted the disease while performing their official duty assigned to them by the Odisha government.
On the other hand, a total of 17 districts reported 146 fresh cases.
This included the highest reporting of 19 new cases from Khurda district while it was followed by Jagatsinghpur district which saw eight new cases.
