An analysis conducted by the Odisha Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms showed the number of candidates with criminal past in 2019 elections was more than in 2014.
In 2014, there were 52 candidates with criminal record.
This year, it increased to 67, and of them, 49 have serious criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder and kidnapping pending against them.
