Bhubaneswar, August 31 (LocalWire): The Met centre in Bhubaneswar has informed that 8 Odisha districts have received excess rainfall in the range of 20-59% this monsoon season (June 1-August 31).
These 8 districts are Malkangiri, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal and Bhadrak.
While two districts (Khurdha and Gajapati) have received deficient rainfall (in the range of -59% to -20%), the rest 20 districts have received average normal rainfall.
The all Odisha cumulative rainfall has been 987.1 mm as of August 31 and it has shown a departure of +6% from the expected normal average rainfall.
While Malkangiri received the highest excess rainfall this year (+49%), Khurdha received the lowest deficient rainfall in the range of -24%.
