Jagatsinghpur, Sept 7 (LocalWire): Professor Durga Prasad Acharya, head of the department of English of Swami Vivekanand Memorial Autonomous College here came out with a collection of poems written during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The book is named “Corona Carols”.
The book has been acclaimed globally in a very short span of time.
Several international English writers and readers have praised the book which embodies poems those reflect the varying moods that the poet underwent and his responses to the pandemic-induced situations and experiences.
The poet has very meticulously portrayed the typical psychological and emotional stirrings that most people during the self-isolation might have experienced.
The poems of this slender collection are, as the poet has said, laced with irony, mild sarcasm, light-hearted banter and half-serious, half-mocking witticisms.
A good number of the poems are funny and humorous.

He has published seven of his most acclaimed plays in a collection titled Bodhidrumar Chhai ru Chitra Charitra.
