Balasore, Nov 1 (LocalWire) In protest against alleged derogatory remarks to an advocate, lawyers at Judicial Magistrate (First Class) court at Basta in Balasore district have demanded action again the inspector-in-charge (IIC) of local police station.
They alleged that the IIC Dhaneswar Sahoo Sahoo had maligned the image of their colleague Goutam Mohanty with remarks that the advocate was having illicit affairs with a client’s wife.
Earlier, the client was arrested and forwarded to court.
Terming the comments by the IIC as “irresponsible” and “derogatory”, the advocates said the charges had created problems in the marital life of the client.
Meanwhile, the wife of the client also lodged a complaint against the IIC with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) charging Sahoo of denigrating her with caste remarks.
However, the IIC refuted the allegations claiming he was being defamed because of other reasons.
