Bhubaneswar, July 22 (LocalWire): Recovered Coronavirus police personnel from Ganjam district now have volunteered to donate their plasma to the critical patients for the treatment of the viral disease.
Ganjam SP Birjesh Rai said that the recovered cops have now taken an oath to volunteer for plasma donation.
He said 31 such cops are now ready to do the donation.
“As many as 31 police personnel of Ganjam district who recovered from Coronavirus have decided to donate their plasma for treatment of serious patients,” he said.
The state government recently started receiving plasma donation and using the same for the treatment of serious patients of the viral disease.
The plasma from the recovered patients are used because such patients develop antibodies in their plasma which fights against the disease.
The government records claim that the initial trials of plasma therapy have worked well with the critical patients in the state as many such patients who were on oxygen support were taken off ventilator post administration of the therapy.
