Bhubaneshwar, February 26 (LocalWire): Ahead of the crucial assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Odisha, many BJD workers joining the BJP enmasse surely doesn’t bode well for the ruling party.
On Monday, scores of BJD workers of Chhatrapur in Ganjam district had joined the BJP in the presence of Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan here. Pradhan welcomed them with shawls and party caps.
BJP’s Ganjam district president Kanhu Charan Pati and mandal president Pradeep Padhi were also present on the occasion, the Pioneer reported.
BJD’s former vice chairman of Chatrapur block Prasant Kar, ex-labour commissioner Trinath Behera, social worker Rabindranath Pradhan, ex-panchayat sarapanches Surya Nayak and B. Lingaraj, ex-BJD samiti members Rabindra Kumar Swain and Rabindra Roul, among others, joined the saffron party.
