Bhubaneswar, Nov 23 (LocalWire) The Civil Aviation Ministry has cancelled the licence of Bhubaneswar-based Air Odisha due to the alleged poor performance of the airlines.
Biju Patnaik International Airport director Suresh Chandra Hota said: “Air Odisha has not been able to operate 75% of its flights in the last three months.
Hence, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has issue a termination of licence letter to the airlines.”
Earlier, on Sept 22, after the inauguration of the Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Air Odisha had started services from Jharsuguda to Raipur.
However, according to airport officials, it stopped its services on Oct 6 in face of allegations of irregularities.
The airlines had obtained license to operate flights from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar, Ranchi and Raipur under ‘Udey Desh ka Aam Nagarik’ (UDAN) scheme.
