Bhubaneswar, Dec 22 (LocalWire) Braving winter chills, ecstatic cricket fans wearing winter clothes were seen standing in serpentine queues since morning to enter the Barabati stadium ahead of the high-profile one-day international match between India and West Indies commencing Sunday.
Amidst overcast conditions in the midst of winter, the visitors were being allowed into the stadium through various gates after thorough check-up.
Water bottle, camera, fruits, other food packets or such other materials are not allowed inside apparently to avoid them being thrown by miscreants targeting the players or into the playing area.
The teams are now locked 1-1 and an exciting finish is awaiting in the three match rubber as the hosts appear upbeat to repeat their performance at Visakhapatnam where had thrashed the Caribbeans in a huge margin.
Meanwhile, heavy security arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the match with deployment of as many as 80 platoons of police force in and around the stadium and for security of the players.
Special traffic management system has been put in place to avoid rush in the city while help desks set up by the Commissionerate police so that fans do not face problems in reaching the stadium or after the match.
Spectators will start entering into the stadium from 9.30 am and arrangements have been made for the viewers vehicles to park their vehicles on the adjacent Baliyatra ground.
The teams are putting up at Hotel Mayfair in Bhubaneswar and had done their net practice in the stadium yesterday.
Both the teams will reach in the stadium in two special buses before the noon.
Mo bus service has made special arrangement to run the vehicles in two categories, one from Baramunda bus stand to Barabati stadium and back the other from Mastercanteen to Barabati stadium and back and crickets fans are expected to take this service for hassle-free visit to witness the match.
