Bhubaneswar, Feb 28 (Localwire): Congress workers have staged a protest during a party meeting for selection of candidates in Kandhamal for the Lok Sabha and assembly segments, indicating a fresh tension in the party, a media report said on Thursday.
The protesters shouted slogans against party MLA Jacob Pradhan while a screening committee meeting was underway on Wednesday, the New India Express reported.
They were opposing party ticket to the MLA this time.
The workers have allegedly clashed with a section of Pradhan’s supporters during the meeting.
Congress, though, has rubbished the claim and said the meeting remained peaceful.
The candidates will be finalised by March 10, the party said.
