Bhubaneswar, Feb 15 (LocalWire): ‘KIIT Fest’, a three-day annual techno-cultural extravaganza of the KIIT Deemed to be University, got underway today amidst much fanfare.
Sunit Tondon, Director, Indian Habitat Centre; Anup Kumar Das, Head, Resource Management, Ericsson, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT & KISS, and Prof. Hrusikesh Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University, attended the inaugural session.
The fifth edition of the fest has enticed a crowd of more than 25,000 students including more than 5000 students from various reputed technical institutes and universities of the country.
During the inaugural session, ‘KIIT Fest’ Mobile App was launched while annual magazine of KIIT Fest Kritika, Magazine of Civil Engineering Department- Nirminite, Magazine of Computer Science Department Kibibyte, Magazine of Electronics Department Kuriosity, Magazine of Mechanical Engineering Department- Yantra NXT were released by the guests.
On Saturday, Bollywood singer Armaan Malik will enthrall the audience, while DJ Night by Prayag Mehta (Lost Stories) and Prakash Iyre, motivational speaker will be the main attractions of the next day.
During these three days, students will take part in 100 different technical, cultural and innovative competitions.
The total prize money for various competitions is ₹50 lakh, which is the highest amount for any university-level technical festival in India, organisers said.
