Berhampur, June 9 (LocalWire): Pramila Bisoyi, the newly elected Lok Sabha member from Aska Parliamentary constituency in Ganjam has urged the Union defence minister to expedite the search operation of the missing IAF aircraft and locate its passengers, including the Odia officer from her constituency.
In a letter to Rajnath Singh on Saturday, the first time MP said Sunit Mohanty, a 28-year old flight lieutenant, was one of the passengers in the missing IAF AN-32 flight.
He is from Baliapalli under Kabisurya Nagara Assembly segment in Aska Parliamentary constituency.
‘Mohanty belongs to my constituency. His parents are disturbed following the incident. It’s very painful to see their plight,’ she said.
‘I appeal to you to expedite the search operation and to bring back Mohanty as well as other passengers of the
missing aircraft,’ she wrote.
The military aircraft with 13 people, including eight crew and five passengers were on board went missing on 3 June after taking off from Jorhat for Mechuka Advanced landing ground in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district bordering China.
Newly elected MLA (Aska) Manjula Swain also met the relatives of Mohanty in his village Baliapalli, near Kabisurya Nagara.
Swain also joined other women from the district, who lit lamps for the safe return of the Odia IAF officer and others.
