Bhubaneswar, August 3 (LocalWire): With Raksha Bandhan less than two weeks away, siblings across the state are busy planning ways to relish their unique love-hate relationship with rakhi, gifts, and surprise plans.
Adding an artistic flavour to the celebration, the government-owned craft museum, Kala Bhoomi in the capital city is planning to introduce four new varieties of rakhis at a workshop on August 11, here.
The rakhis with a have a touch of Odia culture will be made using terracotta, pattachitra, palm leaf, and appliqué technique.
Kala Bhoomi is known for its exhibition of exquisite terracotta, traditional paintings, stone and wood carving, natural material crafts and tribal crafts in ten art and craft galleries.
“Art is the best medium for expressing any emotion. So, this Raksha Bandhan, instead of purchasing modern rakhis, we are planning to bind the siblings with Odisha’s art and culture,” said Saroj, member of the museum to Local Wire.
According to the officials of the museum, there are limited 20 seats for the one-day workshop and participants will have to pay an entry fee of Rs 200 and report by 11 am to join it.
