Bhubaneswar, April 23 (Local Wire): An autistic child from Bhubaneswar suffering from food allergy was delivered 20 litres of camel’s milk from Rajasthan in two days, thanks to Indian Railways.
In a noble gesture, SETU-an initiative by Indian Railway Traffic Service Probationers made this painstaking task possible despite lockdown.
The milk was delivered to the addressee at Bhubaneswar Railway station on Thursday evening.
The cost of the transportation was merely Rupees 125 taken only for the package which weighed about 20kgs.
SETU, is a Unified Helpline and Twitter handle which was set up to facilitate the movement of goods using all available modes of transport.
All anyone had to do was just call and SETU will work out the movement.
“Without transgressing any rules and regulations in force, SETU acts as a bridge. An Information Bridge.
The team gathers the requirements and passes to the appropriate authority who could immediately act on that information,” a statement from East Coast Railway said.
The helpline has facilitated movement of critical medicines to several individuals and in bulk, lakhs of masks/PPEs, ventilators, raw material and finished goods, farm produce, fertilizers and other essentials during the lockdown.
