Balasore, February 26 (LocalWire): The main stadium here will get a facelift soon, and Rs 52 lakh has been earmarked for the purpose, local MP R.K. Jena said.
Besides renovating the ground, a multi-discipline gymnasium will also be constructed inside the campus, Jena told a gathering on the sidelines of the Ray Saheb Prafulla Chandra Memorial Football Tournament.
While the state government will give Rs 20 lakh, Rs 5 lakh will be spent from the local area development (LAD) fund of the local MP.
Jena added that the shortfall will be raised from different sources, The Pioneer reported on Tuesday.
He further said that the PWD has been entrusted to construct a drain around the field to tackle waterlogging. He said the work will start before the model code of conduct kicks in.
Besides Jena, District Collector Ramesh Chandra Rout, Hari Group of Industries chairman Himansu Das and other dignitaries also watched the tournament.
