Balasore, Jan, 2 (LocalWire) Union minister and Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi ended his five hours long protest here, after local administration assured him to fix the issues he had raised, an official said on Thursday.
The animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries and micro, small and medium enterprises minister was unhappy after some patients at the district headquarters hospital complained that the bedsheets provided were not clean.
Sarangi said he had also received complaints that doctors and health staffs were demanding money for providing health care including for surgery and diagnosis.
Demanding actions on the matter he had launched sit-in protest last night with his supporters at the hospital premises and continued it for five hours in the cold winter night.
Initially, the district chief district medical officer and medical superintendent tried to dissuade him but it was not fruitful.
Sarangi, however, called off the protest after district collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy met him at the site and assured him that the issues would be addressed.
