Cuttack, Nov 26 (LocalWire): The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Monday destroyed over 70 kg stale food stocked up with street vendors and at stalls put up at Bali Yatra ground.
The raid was conducted under the direction of Food Safety Commissioner.
Officials said they have thrown away all stale food items present at various stalls after a proper quality check.
The authorities have advised vendors to maintain hygiene.
According to sources, nearly three quintal stale food from various stalls at the annual fair were destroyed in the last three days.
The CMC also decided to impose a fine of Rs 5,000 on food stall owners, who are found selling stale food from Monday onwards.
Earlier, officials had informed that raids are slated to be conducted daily till the end of the 10-day fair.
