Talcher, Dec 19 (LocalWire) A 12-hour bandh in Talcher on Wednesday disrupted normal life.
The shutdown has been called by Talcher Surakshya Samiti over a four-point charter, including appointment of doctors at Talcher Government Hospital, provision of safe drinking water and reducing water pollution in Brahmani river.
Rail services were hit on Wednesday as the activists staged a “rail roko” agitation from early morning.
Picketing and road blockades led to complete disruption of vehicular movement at several places of the town, including Bypass Chhak.
Educational institutions, markets, government offices and business establishments remained closed.
Coal mining operations were also adversely affected.
