Bhubaneswar, Nov 20 (LocalWire) Under its ambitious ‘Light Sculpture Project’, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) will illuminate selected temples, parks and flyovers in Odisha’s captital city every evening.
Ahead of the Men’s Hockey World Cup, 17 temples, six parks and three flyovers will be decorated with colourful LED lights, said BDA officials on Tuesday.
The 14th edition of Men’s Hockey World Cup is scheduled to be held from Nov 28 to Dec 16 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
The three major flyovers in the list are Vani Vihar, Acharya Vihar and Jaydev Vihar.
The six parks include Biju Patnaik park, Indira Gandhi (IG) park, Buddha Jayanti park, Mahatma Gandhi park and Kharavela park.
As many as 17 temples in Old Town area – Ananta Vasudeva temple, Markandeswar temple, Sari temple, Vaital temple, Bhabanisankar temple, Chitrakrinit temple, Dakarabibhisaneswar temple, Devi Padahara temple, Bakreswar temple, Nabakeswar temple, Swarnajaleswar temple, Papanasini and Maitreswar temple, Aisaneswara temple, Makareswar temple, Dwaravashini temple, Mohini temple and Yameswara temple – are also part of this project.
BDA officials on Monday carried out a trial run of the project at Jaydev Vihar flyover and in Indira Gandhi Park.
The lighting for ten temples is complete and the rest will soon be done, said officials.
