Berhampur, February 18 (LocalWire): The commercial market of Berhampur town remained closed on Monday following the Bharat bandh called by Confederation of All India Traders to express solidarity with the families of soldiers martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.
The day-long bandh was observed peacefully in the city, police said.
All major business establishments including filling stations in the town downed their shutters.
‘Our bandh was to show that India stands united’, said Jammula Suresh, member of the Ganjam Chamber of Commerce, the local trade body.
Motor-cycle processions and candle marches were carried out by members of different organisations.
