Bhubaneswar, December 30 (LocalWire) The flights at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) will be rescheduled from February first week because of the re-carpeting of the airport’s runways.
The re-carpeting work will continue for eight months in a phased manner. The runways are in urgent need for recarpeting. The recarpeting of the runways had been undertaken in 2007, said Director BPAI, V. V. Rao.
The re-carpeting work will start from February and will continue till October 2020. In the first phase, the runway re-carpeting will be done during night hours. So there will be no night flights during the period. Similarly the daytime flights will be rescheduled when the re-carpeting will be done in day hours, he said.
