Bhubaneswar, April 24 (LocalWire): A woman was in a state of shock after a polling official told her that someone else had cast her vote when she arrived at her booth here in the third phase of Lok Sabha polls.
When Pranita Mishra arrived at her designated Booth No 122 in Sahid Nagar area here on Tuesday, a polling officer informed her that someone else had cast her vote on her behalf.
Neither the cops nor the polling officers present there could explain how that happened.
After she protested, she was however allowed to vote an hour later through a ballot paper.
“Don’t know if that’s valid in the age of EVM.
Disgusting… It’s a complete mockery of democracy. Who will explain this?” asked Mishra.
Its the biggest phase out of seven phases, covering 117 lok sabha constituencies and the citizens of Odisha are too enthusiastic to cast their vote but to the dismay in polling booth -122 ( Sahid nagar, high school bbsr) what happened was an outrage and blunder on Tuesday Voting for the 3rd phase of the 17th lok sabha election.
When LocalWire contacted the officers, they said that they hoped such blunders don’t occur again.
