Bhubaneswar, March 11 (LocalWire): Biju Patnaik International Airport won the prestigious Airport Service Quality Award as the premier airport in both size and region.
The annual ASQ Award recognizes and rewards the best airport through independent surveys among passengers based on various parameters of security, safety, experience, ambience, ease of availability and cleanliness among others.
Airport Council International selected BPIA along with other airports like Chandigarh airport, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore, SM Badaruddin II Airport, Indonesia, SS Kasim II Airport, Indonesia and Yichang Sanxia Airport in China.
‘BPIA won the ASQ award for being the best airport in terms of size and region (2-5 million passengers in Asia-Pacific),’ Airport Director, Suresh Hota said in a statement.
Hota also mentioned that the honour is a matter of great pride. It is a pleasure that the airport marked its presence in the World Airport Community by being number one amidst several premier airports.
Meanwhile, the budget airline carrier SpiceJet will offer daily direct flights to the Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda. It will connect Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata to Jharsuguda under UDAN, the regional connectivity scheme from 31March 2019.
