Berhampur, November 23 (LocalWire): The local MLA Bikram Kumar Panda on Saturday inaugurated the two-day Youth Festival at the Berhampur Stadium here.
The festival that is being organised by the district administration will provide the opportunity to young and budding artists across Ganjam to perform and showcase their talent.
The inaugural function was attended by district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, Berhampur Municipal Corporation commissioner Chakravarti Singh Rathore and several other dignitaries.
“Over 500 youths in the 13 to 35 age group are participating in the festival.
They will showcase their skill in 13 different items,” district sports officer PK Sahu said.
Besides the classical and modern dances, the participants will also perform popular folk dances like Ranapa, Jodi Sankha, and present one-act-play, he stated.
“We had planned 18 different types of events at the festival, but participants of five events are yet to turn up,” Sahu said, adding that the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for lodging and boarding of the participants.
Sahu further said that the award would be presented to the best performing teams and individuals at the valedictory function to be held on Sunday.
