Berhampur, July 4 (LocalWire): Member of Parliament from Aska Pramila Bisoyi today
demanded enhancement of remuneration of anganwadi, Asha workers and helpers.
In her maiden speech in Lok Sabha, the BJD MP said the Central government had increased
the remuneration of anganwadi and Asha workers to Rs 4500 per month in September, last year.
It is, however, not enough for them. The women who are working in the grass roots level needs to be honoured, she said in her speech in Odia.
She demanded the remuneration of the anganwadi and Asha workers should be increased to Rs 15,000, while the remuneration of helpers to Rs 12,000 per month.
Bisoyi also greeted the members of the Lok Sabha on the occasion of Rath Yatra.
Before her speech, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla praised Bisoyi’s role in leading self help group in her area before become the member of the Parliament.

Rs 7,500 for anganwadi workers, Rs 5,375 for mini-anganwadi workers and Rs 3,750 for helpers for which the state government had to shell out Rs 3,000, Rs 1,875 and Rs 1,500 from its own resources, sources said.
