Berhampur, August 8 (LocalWire): Police today arrested an anti-social from Kotibandi jungle under Ganjam district’s Aska police station limits.
He was wanted in at least 18 different cases, including two murders. A crude bomb and Rs 5000 cash was seized from him, said SDPO, Aska, Suryamani Pradhan.
Police raided the jungle on a tip-off, where the miscreant was hiding.
Police said Kalu Biswal, 30 of Balliapalli village under Kabisurya Nagara police station limits was involved in the murder of Sanyasi Bisoi of Gangapur murder case.
He and several of his associates had murdered Bisoi, a contractor at Gangapur in Badagarh police station limits. They had shot Bisoyi and then hacked him in May last year.
With the arrest of Biswal, police have arrested three people, allegedly involved in Bisoyi’s murder in the last four days.
One of his associates, Chakanayan Parida, was arrested by Baragarh police yesterday. Parida is also involved in at least 25 different cases across the district.
On Monday, police had arrested another accused allegedly involved in Bisoyi’s murder following exchange of fire with him near Aska.
The accused, identified as Guru Prasad Swain of Gangapur village sustained bullet injuries in his left-leg and is undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.
