Bhubaneswar, April 15 (LocalWire): BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik chose veteran leader Prafulla Chandra Ghadai – who was expelled from the party in 2014 and recalled to the fold last month – as a senior poll observer on Monday.
Ghadai has been given the charge of three Assembly constituencies – Chilika, Ranpur and Khordha.
The former Sukinda MLA was expelled for his intemperate outburst against the leadership in an interview to a local newspaper in September 2014.
Other than him, other leaders have also been assigned poll-related designations.
Rabi Narayan Mishra has been named as the observer for Hindol Assembly seat while Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo and Niranjan Pujari have been chosen as observers for Sambalpur Assembly constituency and Sushant Singh as observer of Kuchinda Assembly seat.
Siddheshwari Prasad Mishra, Jugal Nayak, and Manoj Nayak will be co-observers for Bhubaneswar-North Assembly, Cuttack Parliamentary and Kendrapara Assembly constituencies, respectively.
Shipra Mallick and Prakash Das have been appointed as state general secretaries of the ruling party.
