Bhubaneswar, March 25 (LocalWire): The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday announced its second candidature list for nine assembly constituencies for the upcoming polls in Odisha.
Sitting MLA Raseswari Panigrahi has been re-nominated for Sambalpur and happens to be the lone woman in the list of candidates released on Sunday.
BJD had released its first candidate list on March 18.
Others on the list include Rohit Pujari who has been re-nominated from Rairakhol and former assembly speaker Kishore Mohanty has been fielded from Brajarajnagar seat, NDTV reported.
Arkesh Narayan Singhdeo, son of ex-state minister A.U. Singhdeo, has been fielded from Bolangir. He will take on sitting MLA Narasingha Mishra.
The seat was held by senior Singhdeo since 1990 before losing it to Narasingha Mishra in 2014.
BJD has also nominated Pradip Behera from Loisingha, Pritam Padhi from Pottangi, Pradip Kumar Dishari from Lanjigarh, Prakash Chandra Majhi from Jharigram and Mukund Sodi from Malkangiri.
Assembly and parliamentary elections will be held simultaneously in Odisha in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29.
