Bhubaneswar, Oct 11 (LocalWire): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today declared its list of candidates for Balasore Sadar and Tirtol who would fight on the seat on behalf of the party.
The Central Election Committee in New Delhi in a meeting chaired by party president JP Nadda announced the names of two candidates from Odisha.
BJP has now become the first party to announce its candidature for the bypolls. The party has named Manas Dutta as its candidate from Balasore while it has picked Raj Kishore Behera for the Tirtol seat.
Dutta is the son of former Balasore MLA Madan Mohan Dutta and Behera is said to be a new entry to the BJP recently after he divorced the Congress party on whose tickets he fought the 2014 elections.
Congress leader Tara Prasad Bahinipati today said that their candidate list is also ready and most likely to be revealed on Monday. BJD is also said to be on its culminating phase and expected to open its cards soon.
