Berhampur, April 7 (LocalWire): BJP president Amit Shah today made a comparison of the BJP-ruled states and the ‘corrupt government’ of Odisha while addressing an election meeting at Polasara in Aska Lok Sabha constituency and condemned the ruling party for failing the people of the state in all departments.
He said that if his party come to power in Odisha, the leaders involved in chit fund scam would get jail term.
‘Not only will we refund the money to the depositors but also sentence the leaders involved in the scam to jail,’ Shah said.
He attacked the Naveen Patnaik-government saying it failed in all fronts. ‘There are no teachers in schools, no doctors in hospitals, people are not getting pure drinking water or 24-hour electricity here,’ he said. On other hand, he claimed, all these facilities are available in the BJP-ruled states.
Shah appealed to the people to bring a change and install the BJP government in power in the state. ‘If the BJP forms government in the state, it will be a corruption-free one,’ he assured.
He said the people would not go out of the state to eke out a livelihood, leaving their old parents at home.
He also highlighted the assurance given by his party for the state in its manifesto, which he unveiled earlier in the day at Bhubaneswar.
Apart from installing BJP government at the state, he also appealed to the people, ‘Modi is necessary as prime minister once again to ensure the security of the country and to eliminate terrorism.’
It was the second leg of electioneering for Shah in this region. On 1 April, he had addressed a rally at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district under Berhampur Lok Sabha constituency, which will go to poll in the first phase of polling on 11 April.
The Aska Parliamentary constituency in Ganjam district and its Assembly segments will vote on 18 April.
