Bhubaneswar, April 7 (LocalWire): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Sunday released the party’s manifesto for Odisha, promising to fulfill most of the public demands from free loan and pension to farmers, new jobs and ending mining mafia to land patta and pucca houses to all by 2022.
“This manifesto is based on nine points of our vision for the development of New Odisha,” he said.
In the manifesto, the BJP assured to provide interest free loans to farmers and a pension of Rs.3,000 per month for small and medium farmers who are 60 years and above.
It said it will set up two separate funds for ‘Skill Odisha’ and ‘Odisha Tourism Skill’, with a corpus of Rs.3,500 crore and Rs.2,000 crore respectively.
The BJP government will deal firmly with ‘Goondaraj’ and mining mafia; and a Special Investigation Team will probe the chit fund issue and those found guilty will be punished, it said.
The manifesto promises a whopping Rs.1 lakh crore fund to overhaul Odisha’s irrigation network.
It said the BJP government will ensure nonstop power supply of 8 hours to farmlands, 1.5 time minimum support price (MSP) for agricultural produce, piped water and rail connectivity to all 30 districts.
The manifesto promises ‘Ease of Doing Business’ within five years in Odisha, corruption-free rule, filling all vacant posts within two years and setting up of a ‘Knowledge Centre’ in Bhubaneswar.
Shah said that crime against women has increased in Odisha and the party will ensure capital punishment for rape convicts. He also vowed to end the commission culture in the state.
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, party national vice-president Baijayant Panda, Odisha in-charge Arun Singh and other senior leaders were also present during Sunday’s manifesto-release ceremony.
