Bhubaneswar, Feb 10 (Localwire): Campaign for 2019 general election in Odisha is all set to get bigger with Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)’s National President Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath & Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh being scheduled to visit Odisha on 15th, 17th & 20th February respectively.
‘Rajnath Singh will address a public meeting in Bhadrak on February 17, Yogi Adityanath will attend party programs at Bhawanipatna and Nachuni in Khurda on February 20’, said spokesperson of state BJP Golakh Mohapatra.
On the other hand, BJP president Amit Shah in his 3rd visit to the state this year is scheduled to address a rally at Sambalpur on 15th February in which, Shah will have a meeting with about 60,000 booth level organizers of 4 Lok Sabha constituencies of Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sundargarh, state BJP chief Basant Panda informed.
Shah had slammed the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in Odisha describing it as a “fused transformer which needs to be replaced” in his earlier visit.
Pertinently, BJP stalwart and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had launched a slew of projects during his visit to Dhenkanal and Paradip on February 6.
The BJP is also organizing “Parivartan Samabesh” in all the 147 Assembly segments in the state setting a target of winning more than 120 of the 147 Assembly seats in the state, an official said.
Union ministers Giriraj Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav and Manoj Sinha are also scheduled to lead the BJP’s campaign in Odisha in days ahead.
In a desperate bid to keep its cadre united and stage a comeback, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who has already visited Odisha twice in a fortnight, is slated to undertake another visit this month followed by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as a star campaigner. The dates of visit are yet to be confirmed, an official said.
The Congress chief in his last visit had accused Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of being “remote controlled” by Narendra Modi from Delhi.
