Bhubaneswar, June 9 (LocalWire): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has now notified the new Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) for differential contact tracing of Coronavirus patients from the city.
The civic body says that for local contacts in non-slum areas the contact tracing will include primary contacts and secondary contacts like places the patient had visited.
People who might come in contact with them in the last one week will be monitored and if necessary will be put on quarantine.
It said that if the case comes from any slum areas of Bhubaneswar, the tracing will be more exhaustive and aggressive.
The SOP said that for people in home quarantine and those following it well their family members will be followed up but if there are reported lax, secondary contacts will also be tracked.
In case of paid quarantine in hotels, the contact tracing will trace the co-passengers, driver.
The support staff of such centres will also be traced and if found symptomatic will be sent for testing, BMC said.
BMC has made registration with the government mandatory after return from other states and also the home quarantine.
